Thread: Meal Planning

    Meal Planning

Hey friends! I used to plan all of our dinners a week or two in advance. Somewhere along the way we just strayed from it. Problem is -- it helped with money, it helped with weight issues, and it was just so stress-free.

My question is: Do you meal plan? What tools do you use i.e. a website, app,

    Looking forward to the suggestions!

I meal plan but it isn't anything tech-y. I write out my meals on paper, and create a shopping list from that. I find recipes on the internet, though. One of my favorite sites is Pioneer Woman. I'm sure you have heard of that one. The only thing is lots of her best recipes call for "heavy cream"! Not sure that helps much with dieting! However, she always offers an option for the heavy cream -- 1/2 and 1/2!!! LOL! And I understand Paula Dean was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes so I don't know if I would use a lot of her recipes since she uses butter in everything! I'm really helpful, huh?

haha Teresa! I do the paper and pen and calendar with my coupons and grocery flyers. Maybe I need to invent a great meal planning site that is cheap or free. there are a couple out there but the recipes are so far out of my family's taste that I know if I made it; I'd be the only one eating dinner.

I love kraftfoods.com I have heard of Pioneer woman but not tried her foods yet. Did it really surprise anyone that Paula (we love her) has diabetes?

I'm sure glad to hear that I'm not the only one that let the "meal Planning" go by the way side. I use to be so good at doing that and now, . It ain't happenin'. And I've gotten to where I HATE going to the grocery store. So, I will anxiously await for a response also to hopefully help me get back on track also.

I have used e-mealz before, but there are often a meal or two that my picky family refuses to eat.

I used to meal plan too, but that went out the window at least a year or so ago!! I found pads of paper that had the days of the week listed and used that to write my meals on. I definitely need help finding new ideas for dinner though! Problem is, everyone in my house is picky!! 2 of my kids won't eat casseroles, so if I make one, I have to give them everything separate and even then chances are they won't eat it anyways. My hubby doesn't like a lot of stuff (cheese, soups, chicken, potatoes.....the list could go on and on). I'd love to find a site that offers simple and practical side dish recipes.
