Hello from Kent, Washington (near Seattle)

    Hello everyone!

I found your website searching the internet and was so amazed at the layouts in the gallery and thought this would be a good place for me to learn more about digital scrapbooking.

I am fairly new to digital scrapbooking (officially starting in February 2012). I am a grandmother of two teenagers. I started a traditional scrapbook for each of them when they were born. Needless to say, it became quite burdensome having to pull out all of my supplies when I wanted to create a page and then having to put everything away when I was finished. So I have quite a few photos that haven't made it into their scrapbooks. I purchased a new camera in December and thought I would try digital scrapbooking to see if I could get their albums up to date. My plan was to have finished scrapbooks to give to each of them when they graduate high school. It has become more important now since the passing of my son, their father. I have photos of them with my son that they won't have otherwise that need to be included in their scrapbooks.

Ok, that is enough about me for now. I am looking forward to meeting you all and learning all about digital scrapbooking.

    Claudia

I, too, was a paper scrapper. In fact, I owned a scrapbook store but when I found digital, I gave away my scrapbook supplies and took the plunge and I have never regretted it. Now with digital photos and all kinds of supplies at your fingertips, digital is definitely a less messy way to go! You are making an incredible treasure for your grandchildren and one they will love more and more as the years pass. Glad to have you with us. Many of us have not been scrappin' digitally all that long and we remember the questions we had when we first started so don't be afraid to ask for help as often as you need it. We've all been in your shoes.

Welcome to Scrapable, Claudia! We're practically neighbours. I'm just a couple of hours north, just outside of Vancouver. You're timing couldn't be better with the Digi Summer Getaway about to start. I encourage you to try it out! If you've been a paper scrapper, then you already know the most important part. Now you just have to learn the computer techniques. I used to be a paper scrapper too, but I just hated that everything cost so much and you could only use it once! Needless to say, once I went digital, I never looked back.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your son. It's a precious gift you will be giving your grandchildren!

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I received my reservation for the Summer Getaway and can't wait until it starts. It looks like it will be a lot of fun. I only hope I will be able to keep up.

I will try and figure out how to upload my photo this evening. I am not sure what the blinkie is but will investigate that this evening as well. I apologize in advance for all the questions that I know will come.

Once again, thank you for making me feel right at home. I usually lurk a long time before feeling comfortable enough to join in the forums.

    Claudia
